Online worshop EaSI TA: the effects of the Covid-19 crisis on the microcredit sector in Italy: strategies and actions

 

On the 2 of December, a workshop led by the Italian Microfinance Network (RITMI) will take place online. The workshop will address the effects of the Covid-19 crisis on the microcredit sector in Italy as well as the strategies and action implemented to mitigate the crisis.

The agenda of the day is the following:

10:30 – 10:45: Welcome of participants.
10:45 – 11:00: Introduction, Giampietro Pizzo, President of the Italian Microfinance Network.
11:00 – 11:20: Rules and instruments of micro-credit in the crisis situation of COVID19, Sen. Stanislao Di Piazza, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labour.
11:20 – 11:40: The state of the art of the microfinance sector in Italy, Katia Raguzzoni, responsible for the technical assistance of the EaSI programme for Italian institutions.
11:40 – 12:00: Policies and measures to prevent over-indebtedness and usury, Lavinia Monti, Director of Office IV, Treasury Department, Ministry of Economy and Finance.
12:00 – 12:20: The role of the central guarantee fund in the development of microcredit instruments, Guglielmo Belardi, Mediocredito Centrale S.p.A /Secretariat General of the Ministry of Economic Development – to be confirmed.
12:20 – 12:40: Presentation of the EaSI TA programme. The new European programming agenda for the microfinance sector, Jorge Ramirez Puerto, Director General of the European Microfinance Network (EMN).
12:40 – 13:15: Debate and definition of a work agenda.
13:15 – 13:30: Conclusions.
