Microfinanza has joined the Pact for Skills, the European initiative promoting skills development, lifelong learning and cooperation between public and private organisations to support the transformations of the labour market.
18th September 2026
Why Microfinanza joined the initiative
Microfinanza chose to join the Pact for Skills because the initiative is fully aligned with its mission in the fields of financial and socio-economic inclusion, training, entrepreneurship and empowerment.
Over more than 25 years of activity, through over 150 projects and collaborations with more than 100 organisations at international level, Microfinanza has developed initiatives in entrepreneurial training, mentoring, business planning, financial education, access to credit and alternative finance, with particular attention to young people, women, NEETs, unemployed people, migrants and other vulnerable groups, both in Europe and worldwide. Joining the Pact for Skills means strengthening this commitment within a European framework, while creating new opportunities for dialogue, cooperation and the exchange of good practices.
Microfinanza’s commitments
Within the Pact for Skills, Microfinanza has undertaken specific commitments, translating the initiative’s principles into concrete and measurable objectives. The planned activities focus in particular on:
- strengthening employability and entrepreneurial skills through financial education, mentoring, on-the-job training, business modelling and business planning;
- improving access to financial opportunities linked to training and skills development through information and awareness-raising activities;
- updating at least one training or support programme each year, with a focus on digital innovation and artificial intelligence, sustainability and responsible entrepreneurship;
- strengthening cooperation across sectors and organisations through networking, knowledge exchange and the sharing of good practices;
- developing training activities and support services for vulnerable groups, with particular attention to women, NEETs and young people from rural and inland areas.
Skills and inclusion to create new opportunities
For Microfinanza, skills development is closely linked to economic and financial inclusion. Training, mentoring, financial education and entrepreneurship support are complementary tools for strengthening people’s autonomy and creating new professional opportunities.
Joining the Pact for Skills therefore represents not only participation in a European network, but also a further commitment to investing in people’s skills, fostering innovation in support programmes and building new partnerships at national and European level.
