Microfinanza and the Municipality of Savoca together to help the recovery of the tourism sector

Supporting young unemployed people and revive the tourism sector strongly affected by the COVID-19 crisis are the two aims of the collaboration between Microfinanza, a Vicenza-based company operating in the field of financial inclusion and in support of youth entrepreneurship, and the Municipality of Savoca (ME).

Within the project Young Entrepreneurs Succeed (YES!) funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA & Norway Grants for Youth Employment and created with the aim of supporting young  unemployed people in accessing the labour market and promoting entrepreneurship among disadvantaged communities, Microfinanza launched a competition of ideas among the participants of the online course in Digital marketing, in order to create a strategic plan for the social media of the Municipality of Savoca.

Among the eleven plans evaluated, the best and three others which held the attention of the jury will form the basis for the development of an actual communication plan, implemented by the Municipality in the coming weeks with the coordination of the Microfinanza team.

This pilot project will help the young participants of the course to put into practice the acquired knowledge and to undertake a first work experience; on the other hand, the Municipality will have a useful and innovative tool to make the best use of its promotional channels, in a difficult period like the current one.

The Scaling trust-based partnership models to recharge youth entrepreneurship: Supporting underserved communities with innovative entrepreneurship support instruments (TPM-RYE) project, benefits from €2,3M grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. The aim of the programme is to activate unemployed youth to access the labour market and promote entrepreneurship.
