EYE to the Future

EYE to the FUTURE for UKRAINE project

The continuing Russian invasion of Ukraine is an unprecedented disaster for peace and stability in the European Union and exacerbates a number of existing negative global economic trends, such as rising inflation, poverty, increasing food insecurity, deglobalisation and worsening environmental degradation. This environment has also severely affected Ukraine’s entrepreneurial sector, which is struggling to rebuild relationships and productivity.

Recognising the high potential of entrepreneurs for job creation and sustainable development, the European Commission selected Microfinanza as the lead organisation to implement the EYE TO THE FUTURE FOR UKRAINE project.

The project is part of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme, for which Microfinanza is already the local contact point for the development of activities in Italy.

EYE to the Future aims to provide active support through exchange of experience and networking among European business communities to help aspiring Ukrainian entrepreneurs to start, maintain or restart their business activities. The project will enable young and aspiring entrepreneurs (NEs) from Ukraine to spend between 1 and 6 months with an experienced entrepreneur coming from the NEs’ sector and settled in one of the 27 European countries (included Italy).

The consortium of the project is composed of 5 organisations: Nyuko from Luxembourg, Start up Wise Guys from Estonia, The European Center for Social Finance from Germany, Krok University from Ukraine and Microfinanza from Italy.

Each partner will provide management, financial and non-financial support to the mobility of aspiring entrepreneurs to facilitate the start-up and development of their business ideas, including through mentoring by experienced entrepreneurs.

The project aims to stimulate a green and inclusive Europe, to foster the transition to a sustainable, digital and resilient economy and to support the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Objectives

  • 114 professional exchanges;
  • At least 205 entrepreneurs participing in the project;
  • 50% Gender equality;
